We cannot believe it's this time of year already! We will be holding our tryouts June 24th and 25th. Dancers will learn a short combo in front of our judges and demonstrate skills, tumbling, and splits. Skills lists are available in the office so you know what your dancer could potentially be asked to demonstrate. Times will be as follow:
Wednesday, June 24th
7th Grade and up 11:00-1:00 PM
5th/6th Grade 2:00-4:00 PM
*Jr/Sr Elites 5:00-6:30 PM
*Dancers trying our for Jr/Sr Elite will still audition in their age group and return later for the Elite time. This will ensure that ALL dancers are placed on the correct team.
Thursday, June 25th
3rd/4th Grade 2:00-4:00 PM
Pre-K-2nd Grade 5:00-6:30 PM
Dancers can wear what they'd like and style their hair how they'd like. We'd just recommend their hair is pulled back off of their face.
Also, some of the new things for this year -
1. Due to the crazy past few months, we have had to push everything out this year. Because of this, Intensives for teams will be held as an "in-class" method in August. This means that there will be no additional Intensives fee for this season. August will be the normal monthly tuition. This also means that they will be learning choreography in August! So please don't miss these important classes!
2. We are ordering Team Jackets this year! We will be sizing the dancers at tryouts, and taking payment for these at that time as well.
3. NEW NEXT YEAR we will be requiring all enrollees to sign up for our AUTOPAY system for Monthly Tuition charges. We are happy to break down the total cost of everything for the year and put everything on Autopay if you'd like as well. Split monthly payments are also an option.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the costs of for the year on our website link. (It works on a mobile device if you click "view" but it is clearer on a laptop/desktop.) Obviously the more hours danced per month the cost goes up. It is important to us here at Rhythm Works to be upfront with the costs for the year. We hope that you will take these things into account when deciding to commit to a competition dance team.
Dancers wanting to audition for Elite (excpet for petite) will have a separate tryout time. If the cost and time commitment for the Elite Teams does not work for you, please do not have your dancer tryout for that team.
Girls wanting to tryout for the Petite Elite Team will tryout with the 3rd/4th grade time slot and will be asked if they are interested in the Elite Team. Please let your dancer know if this is something you want to commit to.
As always, come to your correct age group for tryouts. There is always potential for judges to move dancers around to teams other than the age group your dancer auditioned. The judges will place dancers in the best place for the dancer to grow.
4. We are adding on to our studio! We will be adding an additional studio room on the South end of our building. This is scheduled to be done by end of September! This is allowing us to add some additional teams/studio classes in the Fall! We are so excited!
